Cindy and LaHoma will be joining the December meeting of Elders for Peace in Chapel Hill, NC to discuss their book, Going to School in Black White: A Dual Memoir of Desegregation. They will share school experiences and discuss why they decided to write this book together.
Elders for Peace is a politically non-partisan group that has been meeting since 2001 to educate themselves and others on non-violent means for international and domestic conflict resolution. Elders for Peace examines issues of war, social justice, the environment, climate change, and protection of individual rights. The group convenes discussions on current issues, presents speakers, and shows documentaries. If participants are interested, they are encouraged to become engaged in their political process. Everyone is welcome, including members of the public.
